NO GENETIC ENGINEERING
The staple of the Egyptian
diet was bread and onions.
We have a couple fine examples from the Allium family for your purchase.

Leeks were grown and eaten in Egypt.

Garlic is questionable,
but it could have been grown in Egypt.
After all, people would want to flavor their onions with something other than
onion all the time.
Onions' Famer's Market is proud to present you with some hearty garlic!

Lettuce was grown, and
consumed in great quantities.
We have the finest of Romaine for you.

Okra originated up south
in Nubian lands.
While we don't know for sure Egyptians grew it,
our market provides for it.
We provide the tenderest and freshest okra for your tastebuds.
You can use this to make thick soups, or simply fry them up.

The pomegranet came
into favor during the latter eras, with the Hellenic and
Ptolmeic influx. Inside are edible dark red seeds, and if you don't like the
taste,
the stuff makes a great dye.

Other frequently eaten veggies were cukes, figs, and dates. We have the best of these for sale, of course.

And, in honor of Lotus
Horemheb, we carry the finest of lotus root,
pickled for preservation.
Please drop back in
soon again, we're always adding new vegetables and fruits
to the selection at Onions' Farmer's Market!
