These guys were awesome! I couldn't get enough. So, I bought one of their CD's -- they have at least four releases.
My choice turned out to be Talkin' To Myself, which has gotten frequent stereoplay back here at home.
This band was the highlight of my truncated visit.
Bandmembers are: Ronnie Bowman, Don Rigsby, Sammy Shelor, Kenny Smith, and Rickie Simpkins.
The vocals were strong and evocative -- they suited the music, without being that stereotypical
country reverbing nasal. Arrangements were tight, and the members played off of each other well.
Their lively songs were excellent, and their slower numbers heartfelt. Their banjo and mandolin
work was fantastic, and nicely complemented by the guitars.
I'd see them again. I'd buy more of their albums...
