August 18, 2001.
Each year, the nearby small town of Bridgewater, Connecticut, hosts this country fair in Connecticut.
The town itself is bucolic, lots of scenic areas and trees, and home to Mia Farrow.
The fair is usually well-attended, and lasts a weekend, with things like tractor pulls, lumberjack
competitions, lots of food stands (heavy on the heavy Americana foods), things for kids to do,
and a variety of critters to look at, and lots of farm competitions. They even have vegetation
competitions, laying out a variety of colorful foods for judging (which invariably look pretty bad by
late Sunday in the hot August. There's even a photography competition, which someday I will
enter.
I loved the lumberjack competition. These guys really went at it, and earned their awards.
Now, these guys are cooler than cool. Pigmy goats, I could see it now! Get myself a couple,
keep the grass down...
Random Engines. People like to putter with these, and just show them off, moving water around.
I'm not going to talk much about this one, seeing as it's a whole year and a half later now,
when I'm posting these pics. Later on, I may re-scan in order to show off the images better. (I'd
originally scanned these to provide "local color" for something I was doing on the online community
site of PanHistoria, and for some reason wanted them small.)

Noisy, but fun.
