July 16, 2005
This festival is such a hoot! This time I got there just before ten am, plenty of time to get close parking and not to have to wait in traffic (a problem with 2004 and my arrival hour).
I had planned on attending with a friend, but she had to back out at the last moment. So, I gathered up my cameras, and went alone. The weather was thick, dank, heavy, warm-- you could cut it with a knife. I think there were more people in attendance in 2004 (and yes I'll be posting those pages, too), probably due to the weather.
The images on this page are just a preliminary. I brought both the digital and the old fashioned analog (film still in camera), plus I want to play with styles and formatting before this page is a GO.
There's advantages to digital, there's advantages to film. Digital is immediate, and you can toss out the bad pics before developing. You can look at the photos on the computer as soon as you get back to the computer. Quality nowadays is nearly as good as most film. The analog/film camera, however, is good for action shots -- if you go to manual focus the picture snaps exactly as soon as you depress the shutter. (Caber toss shots were all done on that camera.)
Highlights: Eating a haggis puff. Discovering the musical group, Zoe and the Fiddleheads. Just being back!
The photos below will sort themselves out once I get all of them back and decide what, and how, I will use them. This is just a sampling:
Enter the Haggis
Charlie Zahm
Zoe & the Fiddleheads (Zoe, anyway)
Iona
Opening Ceremony
So, these pages will be expanded upon in the near future! I haven't forgotten!
